Youth Cong chief Srinivas BV moves Gauhati HC, seeks quashing of harassment case

Indian Youth Congress (IYC) countrywide president Srinivas B V on Wednesday moved the Gauhati High Court looking for quashing of the FIR filed through expelled celebration chief Angkita Dutta accusing him of harassing and manhandling her. On Sunday, the Assam Police had served a word to the IYC leader to seem on the Dispur police station in Guwahati on May 2.

Dutta – who became expelled from the number one club of Congress for 6 years over alleged “anti-celebration activities” following her accusations in opposition to Srinivas – lodged the FIR on April 19 on the Dispur police station.

In the FIR, she stated that Srinivas has been “harassing and torturing her for the final six months through making sexist comments, the usage of slang phrases and additionally threatening her with dire effects if she continues complaining in opposition to him to the senior celebration workplace bearers”, stated information corporation PTI. She additionally alleged that Srinivas heckled her and threatened to spoil her political profession all through the celebration`s plenary consultation in February.

In view of this, a five-member Guwahati police group went to Bengaluru on April 23 and notified Srinivas. The word said that if he fails to conform with the order, he “can be subjected to an arrest”. “Failure to wait or follow the phrases of this word can render, you’ll be accountable for arrest below segment 41A(3) and (4) of CrPC,” the order said.

Meanwhile, the BJP has slammed the Congress celebration for expelling Dutta, mentioning that the way wherein she became sacked is “uninspiring for women”.
