We reported in June 2020 that fate: the Winx saga had been renewed next to Ozark and Warrior Nun. It was not until February 2021 that Netflix revealed through its Twitter accounts that fate: the Winx saga will return for a second season. An advertisement video of season 2 on YouTube was also released to confirm the news even more. Speaking about renewal, Brian Young, who works as Showrunner, said the following about renewal:

Since its launch on Christmas Day, Bridgerton has firmly sat in the first place of television in multiple regions of the world, especially in the United States. What about the series controversy?
Naturally, with a franchise as popular as the Winx Club, any live action adaptation will be under certain scrutiny. Leaving aside the quality of the series, the greatest controversy faced by the program was reduced to casting decisions. In particular, the character of Musa, whose characters design was inspired by the Chinese-American actress Lucy Lui, was not given to an actress of Asian ancestry; Instead, Emily Applebaum was chosen. Fans had more problems with the Flora character in favor of Eliot Salt’s character from Terra Harvey. Although the potential debut of flora in the second season has been mocked by Salt (and we can confirm that this is the case shortly).
It could be said that these “controversies” were not close enough to cancel the series.
- Flora will be played by Paulina Chávez – Described as an Earth fairy like her cousin Terra, having an easy-going nature but hiding a dark secret. They are casting a Hispanic female for this role.
- Sebastian will be played by Éanna Hardwick – Featuring in season 2 of World of Winx, Sebastian will be making his way over to the Netflix series seemingly. Described as a student with a brilliant mind but questionable morals.
- Grey will be played by Brandon Grace – We weren’t able to find a reference to Grey (correct us if we’re wrong) from the original animated series. This character is set to be a transgender male described as a specialist with a secret (everyone is hiding secrets in season 2!). Furthermore, he’s set to have a relationship with Aisha in season 2 which he obtains with his “charismatic charms”.
Where is Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 in Production?
Before the confirmation of a film start, we knew that the production was due between mid -July 2021 and November 2021 with the filming once again in Dublin, Ireland. Season 2 is expected to be 8 episodes that arise from the 6 seen in season 1. On July 20, 2021, we obtained the confirmation that the filming had begun with the new members of the cast. The filming for season 2 is carried out again in Wicklow County, Ireland.
We also know that some filming was made in Avoca, Ireland. The filming continued in August 2021 with many of the members of the cast that published videos and photos of their time on the set.
